Type 1 diabetes represents around 10% to 15% of all cases of diabetes. This type of diabetes occurs when the pancreas glands no longer or is unable to produce any insulin. Therefore, it is known as “insulin dependent”.
Type 1 diabetes is commonly diagnosed among children or young adults, but usually before the age of 40. This type of diabetes is caused by lifestyle factors as such.
The most common symptoms can include:
- Excessive thirst
- Excessive urination
- Unexplained weight loss
- Weakness Fatigue
- Irritability
