Tristan Irschlinger
Policy Advisor, Fisheries Subsidies
Tristan Irschlinger is a Policy Advisor, Fisheries Subsidies at the International Institute for Sustainable Development.
A policy analyst and project manager with significant experience working on trade and sustainable development issues, Tristan brings an excellent understanding of international cooperation to his study of financial support for fisheries. Prior to joining IISD, he worked as a program officer and acting program manager for the Environment and Natural Resources program at the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD). He also served as an associate program management officer for the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), an analyst for the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and an academic trainee for the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the WTO and EFTA.
While at ICTSD, Tristan was the managing editor of Bridges Africa and Passerelles, two periodical reviews focusing on trade and sustainable development issues in relation to Africa. He also founded and served as vice-president for Jet d’Encre—Tribune indépendante pour une pensée plurielle, a multilingual web platform that publishes analyses and perspectives on a wide range of issues.
Tristan Irschlinger has a master’s degree in international relations/political science from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Switzerland) and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Geneva (Switzerland).
He is fluent in both French and English.
